Molly Seidel Earns USATF Athlete of the Week for Win in Pro Debut

USATF has awarded this week's Athlete of the Week award to Molly Seidel for her win at the B.A.A Mayor's Cup cross country meet.

Seidel was racing for the first time since an injury derailed the end of her collegiate career last spring. Competing in her pro debut for the Saucony Freedom Track Club, she won the 5-kilometer race in 16:18.

Seidel's performance was the second fastest on the Franklin Park course. She won the race by 30 seconds over Abbey D'Agostino, who was racing for the first time since her ACL injury at the 2016 Olympics.

Next up for Seidel is the USATF 5K Championships on Nov. 4 in New York City.
